About Reflexology. IMAGE OF FOOT

More than just a foot massage - Using the feet to treat the whole body.

Reflexology -A popular choice of complementary therapy.

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing, by reducing stress in people's lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands and face correspond with different areas of the body and as a Reflexologist, I work these points and areas. Reflexology works on an individual basis and may alleviate and improve symptoms such as everyday stress and tension. It is estimated that 75% of disease is stress related, reflexology relieves stress and tension and has a deeply relaxing effect. Approximately 7000 nerves are stimulated by reflexology massage.

Upon your first session, I will take a detailed medical history before the session is performed in a comfortable reclining chair. You will be asked to remove your footwear and socks (foot reflexology). I will then make a visual and tactile examination of the feet (or face) before beginning the reflexology movements involving the application of an appropriate pressure using thumb and fingers. It is a wonderfully relaxing experience where you can take time out from the day to day pressures of life.....sit back and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any age restrictions for Reflexology?
No, reflexology is for all ages, from birth onwards. I would adapt the timing session for a baby/child, which is normally shorter than an adult session.

Can you have reflexology if pregnant?
Yes, reflexology is safe to use during normal pregnancy and can help to support you emotionally and physically during your journey encouraging the body and mind to relax. Treatments will be adapted for pregnant clients and we can discuss any concerns you have.

What if I am unsure whether my feet can be used due to injury/illness/disease?
If there is a reason why the foot cannot be treated then I can adapt and use the hand or face, using both a foot/hand and face where required. Some clients prefer for their hands to be worked rather than their feet or a mixture of face and feet/hand.

Reflexology is recognised as a complementary therapy by many private health providers. Check your policy for details and book your reflexology appointment today!
